Octane Coffee: Brewing Innovation Through Crowdfunding

A Fresh Approach to Coffee

Octane Coffee isn’t just another café—it’s redefining how we experience our daily cup of joe. Founded by Adrian Deasy, the company offers an unconventional drive-thru coffee experience that aims to eliminate the common frustrations associated with traditional coffee shops. Instead of long lines and extended waits, customers use a fully automated system to order their drinks online, ensuring that their coffee is perfectly timed to be ready upon arrival.

Crowdfunding for Expansion

This fall, Deasy is utilizing an equally innovative method to grow his business: crowdfunding. With the city of Pewaukee as its home base, Octane Coffee recently launched its first investment round, with the aim of opening a third location in Hales Corners on Highway 100, just north of Festival Foods. As of Thursday, the ambitious campaign has already raised an impressive $247,188.

Recent Growth and Exciting Start

Just weeks before launching the crowdfunding initiative, Octane Coffee opened its latest location in the Town of Brookfield, situated on Bluemound Road near Best Buy. This new site is performing exceptionally well, with Deasy reporting that it is generating five times the business of the original Pewaukee location, which is currently closed due to road construction.

Deasy emphasizes the uniqueness of their drive-thru model, explaining that from a distance, it may appear empty because customers are literally in and out in a matter of minutes. "The goal is to streamline the entire experience," he notes, and it seems to be paying off.

The Inspiration Behind Octane Coffee

Deasy’s background plays a significant role in his approach to Octane Coffee. Growing up in a food service family, he developed a keen understanding of both the culinary and business aspects of the industry. Complaints about overpriced coffee and slow service rang true for him; thus, he decided to merge engineering principles with coffee service to create a more efficient solution.

Working during the COVID-19 pandemic to conceptualize and develop the idea, Deasy managed to secure funding based on a revolutionary concept that promises speed and convenience without sacrificing quality.

Investment Opportunities

The crowdfunding initiative allows a broader audience to invest in Octane Coffee, with minimum contributions starting at $300. For those who invest at this entry level (or higher), there’s promise of future equity, as the valuation cap sits at $20.7 million. This creates an avenue for not just coffee lovers but also everyday investors to become part of Octane Coffee’s exciting journey. The response has been overwhelmingly positive; around 70 investors have already joined in.

Staying Local for Now

While Deasy has ambitions for Octane Coffee that stretch beyond the Milwaukee area, he is currently focused on maintaining quality and service. His strategy for growth includes initially scaling operations within metropolitan Milwaukee to ensure fast service at new locations.

He’s aiming to franchise Octane Coffee by late 2026, which could transform the local brand into a nationwide phenomenon. "For us, we are definitely looking to scale up our manufacturing," Deasy explains. His commitment to keeping operations in Milwaukee reflects a desire to harness local talent and resources for the business.

The Future of Octane Coffee

As Octane Coffee rides the wave of its recent success, the blend of innovative technology and community support seems to carve out a promising trajectory. With Deasy’s hands-on approach and entrepreneurial spirit driving the change, the coffee world may just be waking up to a new standard of convenience and quality.
